Even as a little kid, when people would ask, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

I’d respond: “I wanna
make theatre…”

Kel-Millionie

a bit about Kel…

Kel Millionie is a Director, Lighting Designer, and Theatre Artist, creating new, exciting, and visually engaging work on stage around the country. Kel was the founder and Artistic Director of Daydreams + Nightmares Aerial Theatre (DNA Theatre), which presented innovatively staged original aerial theatre to Mid-Atlantic audiences from 2004-2016. Kel’s history as a theatre artist is rooted in organically devised performances that use an amalgamation of aerial movement, technology, physical expression, soundscapes, creative structures, and unique theatrical compositions. These combined elements explore themes of human connection, emotional desolation, and visceral expression.

Also a painter, mixed-media artist, and marketing designer, Kel finds inspiration in theatrical compositions and strong use of gesture, lighting, contrast, and movement within his work. His painting practice is meditative and often not rooted towards developing a final product. Throughout Kel’s artistic career in theatre and performing arts, he has used painting and mixed media to design lighting, sets, costumes, and other ephemera for theatrical productions. Currently, he paints, designes, and makes art in his spare time in Alexandria, Virginia.
